I am trying to fit a 55 gallon aquarium at the bottom, but the 2x4 I used to reinforce won’t let it fit, if I removed these and added a sheet of 3:4 plywood would it work? The top is a 75 gallon
Unlike a glass tank with trim, acrylic tanks can’t be supported just on their edges. They have to be fully supported in the bottom so you’ll have to use plywood under them regardless. You also have to make sure the plywood is fully braced
