Can i use paintball co2 cainster with a bbq regulator for my planted aquarium?

I need to know if the co2 cainster spiget fitting is the same as like a 5 gallon propane fitting

They are not the same and won't work.
 
you can buy an adapter to make them work. Friend buys co2 in propane size bottles and fills his small tanks at home. He saves alot of money!
 
sweet shez my mind just bypassed getting co2 in 5 gallon form. Then i could use the regulator from my bbq without any issues

Your BBQ regulator won't work. Propane tanks (full) typically are at about 60-120 PSI. CO2 tanks (full) are at about 600 PSI. When your friend talks about a "five-gallon size" CO2 bottle he is probably referring to a 20 pound bottle. These are heavy duty steel canisters more like a scuba tank in construction than a propane bottle.
 
thats a good idea. hes right about the co2 being too much pressure for a propane tank.
i think that a 20 oz tank will last quite a while as long as there are no leaks. and its only like 5 bucks to refill at wal mart.
you can get remote line regulaters online that you can tune to cc's per minute, which is what you want.
do it, sooo much cheaper than the ones that are made for aquariums,

Check out this regulator its 12$ This is for a 7 gallon bow planted tank just didnt think it was necassary to drop 170$ on the massive injector system my lfs has.
