I love how my rocks are all purple and red. Coraline can come in almost every color of the rainbow.

Give your rock some time. Its going to get worse before it gets better when you add new rock.

hmmm ok, well to clear up a few things that have been said, its going to be a FOWLR tank, so i wont have to worry about corals, and all that rock has been in the tank for over a month, so just to be clear about this, it looks like coraline algae and i shouldt worry about it. i havent added any fish to the tank yet. it only has some cleaners and scavengers, i didnt want to add fish until i knew what was going on in my tank

I think that if your rock is turning white...that over time (given your tank has the correct parameters) you will see a resurgence of color and life from your rock.
