can males have markings on dorsal fin?

Most definitely yes they can have markings on the dorsal fin. Cruise around looking for photos on this site and FHC(flowerhorncraze). I can guarantee you that you will find one. Do the work and you receive what you want faster. ;)
 
Choy whats good... didnt know you were here. Anyway the answer to your question is yes, though its "less" likely in ZZ strain.

I agree. Kamfa and kamfamalau can have flowerline all over their body but on zz typically only the female will ever have spots on her dorsal fin. Luckily for most of the noobs in the U.S. all you ever see is zz strains.
 
Which reminds me, I remeber seeing a pic of a nice male flowerhorn that had a triple flower row. The normal two rows and the one on the dorsal fin. This was some years ago and I forget where I saw it from. But yea, males can have those.
