Its true.

Veggies:

Peas
Green Beans
Carrots maybe

Fruit:

Banana
Mango
Cantaloupe
Apples maybe
Etc
Yes it's true, although it should be noted that Oscars eat everything and anything the messier the better, fruit and veg wise banana is perfect for this;)

Thanks A lot, they are very cool. Now I can throw some fruit and veggies in, because I have a lot oh carnivouris foods.

Geez. Osars are omnivores, like most fish, but they are far more carniverous then herbivoruris, BY FAR.

Feed them frozen sardine , or other fish, guts and all, and they can grow at a ridiculous rate. Once they get big ( 6- 12 months) they will prefer pellets until they go on another growth spurt; then feed them heavy on fish/ shrimp meat etc.

Cool, Ill try these ideas with my oscars tomorrow, but they are still small around 3in, small pieces then. Thanks

Yeah those guys are garbage cans. They eat everything. But if you want them to look really good, stick to things like live feeders, high quality pellets (Hikari cichlid bio-gold), and fresh cut raw fish / shrimp. You wont be dissapointed in growth or coloration :naughty:

Don't even think about fruit or veggies for an oscar:ROFL: yes, they are actually omnivores, but with a very carniverous "tendancy". Pellets are about as close to 'veggies' as they will ever need! Give them MEAT: chopped up human grade frozen whole fish ( ie. sardine, mackeral etc.), chopped up human grade frozen salmon, chopped up uncooked peeled shrimp, chopped up or whole krill from the LFS, live earth worms etc.
