4ft tall, 4 ft wide, 15" no brace on top just all plexy walls , open on top. 1/2" thickness

it seems flexible out n the hot sun and I was wondering before I put water in. thank U. I get picture later.

That honestly sounds a bit sketchy to me at 4ft long by 4ft tall. I'd expect a thicker than 1/2 but I'm no expert

4ft tall and only half an inch? That doesnt sound too good. Usually 4' tall tanks are around an inch+

Yeah I have a 8 foot long by 4 foot tall tank but it is 1 1/4" thick and it still scared me to fill that up, I would not trust something that thin... It may be homemade for something other then a aquarium!! Let use know how it works out for you please..

Sounds like it may be a reptile tank...? I have a 3' tall acrylic in 1/2" that bows like a s.o.b., but 4' is pushin the limits pretty far. Only one way to find out if she holds lol....u may be able to fill it if you add some top bracing. Would be a perfect riparium/plaudarium only filled to 30"

No bracing in the middle. Im afraid. It isnt as hard as my acrylic tank

sounds like a reptile tank as Wednesday said, throw it in the back yard and put the hose in and see how it goes?

gonna have to do that.

Butwhat yall think? will the walls split? I think it needs a piece holding on top in the middle first.

I think it'll be fine.

People like to refer to charts that have height as the ONLY factor in determining the thickness of glass/acrylic being used, but in reality, its much more complicated than that, but for common aquarium sizes, its a pretty safe rule to follow.

For such a narrow tank, I think the 1/2" acrylic will be fine. I don't think it was a reptile tank, because who in their right mind would use Acyrlic as a reptile tank. It would be scratched to hell.

I do think you will need a brace at the middle of the top. I, personally, would just put a clamp in the middle on the top, put the tank on some plywood on a level surface in my garage, and fill it up for a few weeks and check to make sure everything is fine.

Interesting looking tank. I always like seeing tanks that are unusual :-).

If you're still nervous about the tank, it would make one hell of a paludarium setup!

I think U right.. I went and squeezed the middle in and I feel a center brace in, it can actually hold well with maybe a chance of a lil puffing.

Will the walls split you guys think? After the center brace is glued in, and there might be puffing out a lil bit, is that safe? Will the walls split from too much water?

Here it is I went and put water in but gotta stop there before center brace is glued in..

Where can I get a square piece for the top ? And where do they sell the glue for that? And is Acrylic and Plexy glass different? For different glue?
