It stays on a cave all day and it is hard. I apologize for that post, I wrote it when I was really tired and grumpy.

I am not an expert on microsynos. Maybe, there is only one that can be solid black/brown - I don't know. I'd suggest to take a look all the species in that not-that-large of a genus and see if you see a good match. Remember though that synos often change appearance from babies to juvies to adults so one must pay attention to the age of the fish pictured when comparing/researching.
