Looks like a Blue Acara, but I guess that I'm just tired and can't tell the difference.

looks like a blue acara cross with a GT.

Is that possible? It has the head shape and cheek markings of a blue acara, but the body and dorsal features and markings of a GT

not sure but definately an aquadeins GTs & acara are in the aquadeins family.

"rivulatus" from Peru are the real GT gold and silver suams are the fakes

Its neither Aeq. sp 'gold saum' or the true Aeq. rivulatus. Its the good old Blue Acara. Aeq. pulcher.

how big should big should i expect this to get?

Should get 6" or so and Im not sure of the sexes. They are difficult to sex.
