Can Someone Confirm This Is a Real Geo Jurupari

yeah he was probably picked on bad. he looks like my curviseps while they were still with the spawning kribs...once u get them into a different tank they settle down and look much better. Ill bet u in a bout a week of good food and stress free that will be one good looking fish. Check out the sunken belly thing though make sure theres no health issues there.

i've kept lots of both species. No matter how much i fed, they always had a flat belly

my jurupari is always eating but no matter what has a flat belly. its not gonna get fat like some other ciclids

beautiful, but 100% leucostica. He is skinny though

fatten him up, mine when i had it was a decent weight, but not fat like my flowerhorns and the like.

Juripari are increbibley rare in the hobby, as with true surinamensis.

the tell tail sign of a leucostica is the pearling on the face. jurupari wont have that

interesting......I had 2 of these for many years and I bought them as "Geophagus Jurapari".Its an earth eater none the less and I just picked up 3 more labeled "Jurapari" only; but do not have many colors yet since theyre still juvi's.In any case,whatever ya wanna call it-they're kool fish and always busy
