that sweet water has been discussed and anyone with real experience has declared it a poor environment for any fish, it shouldnt be promoted!-)
if you read up some cichlids have even been reported spawning on reefs, i think mayan and cuban were two i read about but that was a few years ago now... arnt mollys also capable of full marine?

either way this sort of thing should not be condoned, when people have done this properly for scientific reasons the fish are very slowly acclimatised to the salt over months.

It's a marine tank with a few brackish fish that can easily be converted between fresh and saltwater (scats and monos)
The hybrids (red parrot and flowerhorn) can tolerate a wide range of water conditions.. the hybrids will not still healthy for long. Certain 'freshwater' fish like bullhead catfish can live their entire lives in complete saltwater if they are acclimated correctly.

You must have some real luck to keep Ameiurus in SW. They're highly intolerant of salinity and they only species present in even brackish water that can stay healthy would be the white bullhead.
