can someone give me a list of smaller catfish?

But this is very broad. What exactly are you looking for? Silurids? Doradids? Plecos? Corydoras? Bagrids?
um I'm not sure I'm a newbie with catfish. all i know is i have seen larger catfish and some at petco and petsmart that are pretty small. i think i need too do some research.

Pimelodids? Pimelodella? Clarotiedids? I think just about every family has cats that grow under 12". Oops i dont think pangasidae... but i could be wrong.

get a lima. what size tank are we talking about? gulpers grow to 12'', and so do lima's. syno cats.
A list of your fish would be a good start, as a lot of cat's are predatory, so your have to fit your cat's round your fish.
