the guy at the lfs had no idea what they were or where they came from. he just told me they were FW and did not require land... but I doubt he has any idea what he was talking about

they look like swimmer crabs or female fiddlers one question when you got them were they swimming around now and then or just walking on the bottom:confused:

a few weeks ago the guy had like 50 of them and there were no male fiddlers in there. not to say they didn't send him all females but I doubt it

ok but were they swimming or not if they were swimming they are swimmer crabs also known as paddle legs

he didn't have enough water in container for them to swim. so i couldn't tell you

oh ok then try putting them in a aquarium full of water and see what they do if they dont swim around theyre probably just some carribean rock crab or something

kinda look like red claw crabs to me, got a face to face veiw for reference. And these require land. My red claw crawled out of my tank (dunno how) and to the living room, he never made it :(

yeah, they look like they're related to them but I'm pretty sure they're not red clawed crabs. the coloration is different and they are about 3x the size of the biggest red claw that i have seen
