flag cichlids at my lfs is about the same price, maybe a dollar more.. thinking of picking some up, would they go good with two severums two chocolates? ( soon maybe one chocolate, one severum )?

IDK because chocos and sevs get pretty big. These guys are kinda small and timid. They don't get bigger than 3 1/2 ''.
I have three curviceps witn a 4" choco thats growing out a bit and he doesnt mother them. If anything the little guys can be fiesty especially when paires off, think of a convict taking on bigger fish. Choco minds his business and they mind theirs. Also they are more of a bottom deweller and middle while the chocolate never really stays down long if at all.

Looks like a cool feeder fish Rob! 
To be honest it does look like a pretty neat fish. I'm sure it colored up nicely over the dark gravel. Hopefully you bought them all out for $3.00 a fish!

I got them at 405. I might get more but they have like 15-20 left and from what the guys said, haven't been selling to well. I need to stop by and check out your big fish and tanks soon. I'll call you this week. I'll bring feeders

Lucky. I've bought 'curviceps' three times and have gotten L. dorsigera all three times. Laetacara are great little cichlids, my L. araguaiae have to rank of one of my top 3 cichlids of all time.
