Not sure what type of severum this is. The spots on it are red.

Possibly a red shoulder(rotkeil) severum or a spotted severum.

Is it around 2"?

It's hard to tell while young imo. It could be just a regular green severum, but I doubt it.

I don't think it is a red shoulder. I had some and bred some too. I had various size red shoulders and they don't have spots like that.

I'm not saying you're lying/wrong, I just want to gain some knowledge.

How do you tell apart a regular green severum from a red shoulder one while they're young? Some red markings(rather than spots) by the "face"?

I think it looks like notatus but i am def no expert, i don't think it is rotkeil because of how far back the spots go and usually a rotkeil would just have red on the front portion of the "shoulder" but in this fish it goes all the way back to the middle of the body and is more spread out, I have never seen a regular green/turquoise with this type of spotting either...

Whatever it is, I hope it keeps the bars. I have a large green severum that doesn't have bars, but when I drop food in the tank his bars appear and he goes crazy
