I have to agree that peacocks aren't usually a "cycling" fish. Additionally, he is going to require different feeding than your tropheus that will eventually end up calling the 75 home. You can do LARGE water changes to help with the ammonia and nitrite levels, but will also increase your cycle time...HTH

Its Not a ruby red, I breed ruby reds. Looks like a german red. Never cycle a tank wirh awesome fish like the peacock and demasoni.

Using fish to cycle a tank is just cruel, I would return them both.

I must have overlooked the part about using them to cycle the water and was just concentrating on trying to identifying the first picture.

I agree with Kantna; those guys are too awesome of fish for that. I generally use substrate, decor, and filters from established tanks to cycle new tanks. In the past, I used comets...but then was stuck with the comets.

read up on fishless cycling. Buy pure ammonia at a $1 store. I cycled my 180 in about 2.5wks. I probably put a cup in the first day, then 1 tablespoon a day for 2.5wks, then my africans and everyone was happy.
