well hes dead only at 5 months old and 7 inchs long
by far the best fish i ever own 'publo' i will miss him the really sad
thing is he jus spawned with my texas but the eggs got eaten 2 days
ago an the texas was swimming jus behind him while i was holdin him up
then wen he was on the bottom wen i went to get a bag for him she was
nudging him and swim around him then flared at me wen i went to take him
out. one of the saddest days i dont wish this for anybody take it as a caution
dont buy asian catfish that can get eaten
by the way its the first fish he has ever eaten most peaceful giant
R.I.P 'publo'

Awwwww. I just found this thread. :( Sadness! Best of luck on the next try! No more bite-sized pokey things with cichlids, huh? Sad you learned the hard way. This is a common way for fish to die, though. It's usually Oscars choking on cories. :(

thanks guys he was the best fish, wish i had a camera to take a pic of him for ya's
jus read the thread about the ebjd's u are one funny bloke knifegill that put a smile on my face haha

+1 . . . yeah, it's a tough lesson, but cichlids sometimes make really bad decisions about what looks good to eat; this is how I lost an Oscar, and almost lost a Green Terror . . .

the only catfish I keep now are bristlenose or bulldog plecos - - which they won't eat - - and otocinclus, which they might eat, but at least it won't kill them

sorry for the loss, sux . . .

well, for the record, my 10" Oscar died after swallowing a 4" Pictus catfish, so be careful . . . (!)

my GT got a cory cat stuck in his mouth, but I caught it quickly enough, and actually saved both fish
