Personally, I'd euthanize him right now.
He doesn't look too great.
Clove oil is the way to go if you want to euthanize him.
I would NOT freeze him. I hear it's pretty bad.

just put him down it is deffinatly for the best

well, we left him one more night just in the vein hope he would at least appear to be getting better. He didn't.

I put him to sleep this morning and said my final goodbye.
As I was fishing around for him with the net he would swim but more or less come to a stop as soon as he could and return to the limp position.

I figured that he's suffered permanent damage and swimming was hurting him. It was no way for something to live and he made me feel like he was the character in Metallica's "One".

Well, RIP Dodgem, we love you very much.

ps. Thanks for the support guys and suggestions, I don't really want to go into how I let him go but it was as peaceful, quick and dignified as I could do it.

What'dya mean fish don't suffer? They just dont feel in their mouths/head area. But I've seen people fillet Searobin and Smoothhounds that were alive. And they were suffering. An'd I've accidentally foul hooked Bluefish, Bluegills, Stingrays, and they werent too happy and fight much more frantically that legit hooked fish.
Anyway, yeah, give it another day, then decapitate him. Good luck with him.

Read: process pain. Their mental reaction to pain is quite different from ours.
