there are any number of ways it could have injured itself ramming the sides of the tank, hitting the glass covers or like i said it could be a defect in the spine that just presented.Did you get this one the same time you got the one in the show your bichir thread?Any large tankmates?
Nope this fish is bought at a different time and they are not related.
Hmm. the larger fish are only the other endies. But i don't think they could have did this to the poor fellow. I'm really upset over this endy as it has been with me since its was 2" and now 14". Pray hard that it recovers. Btw thanks everyone for the great concern and i really appreciate it.

You might want to try a 'hail Mary' just in case the problem is bacterial in nature and not related to some trauma.

Perform a 30-50% water change, boost the aeration a bit, add a teaspoon of epsom salt per 10 gallons of tank volume, and bump the heat up to 84-86F. Then, hope for the best. Sorry I couldn't recommend something else. But, without other symptoms, it's difficult to determine a therapy that is 'sure-fire'.
Best of luck to you and the endli.

Will do my friend :)

Hey BK, i wouldnt want to give you false hopes, but my palmas polli was once bent too. I'm not sure if it was an infection or some spinal defect. it lasted for about 2 months and he slowly got better. The only thing about it was he was only around 5-6 inches that time. Since i really didnt know what to do, I transfered him to a 100 gallon tank to give him more space to swim around. He wasnt eating much when he was in that condition. Now, except for the minimal growth, he looks as if he never had the injury.

Hope your endli survives, dude.

B.K. We need to get it to eat try defrosted bloodworms or a small earthworm
if we can get it eating theres a much better chance of survival.-Anne

Wow. Hope mine does recover like yours. But when it was bent did it eat any food given to him?

Its been a week or so since it has eaten anything already. I will try smaller sized feed as u mentioned. Thank u so much for your help and advices :)

it did not really eat much. but then again,he was in a big tank with lots of small hungry bichirs back then and competition was pretty tough. especially given his condition (he could barely make it to the surface to breath air, let alone compete for food).besides, this palmas polli's appetite has never been too great to begin with.

does that endli eat a lot before this came?

Remember my injured endy who could neither eat nor swim well due to its injured spine?

This is the endy (front endy) now in main tank with the rest, eating and swimming perfectly well. Got to thank all who gave great advices and techniques to save this fellow. Cheers!! :nilly:
