I found 7 of these swimming in a 40gal tank with my common pleco. I pulled the pleco from my Oscar tank because I noticed white stringy poop from him. The Oscar and Cyano texas cichlid seem fine and have been eating normally.

I checked their tank for these and didnt spot one. I also check my GT fry tank, again not one in sight.

I'll feel dumb if they are very early stage GT fry, but the pleco has only come in contact with one GT fry that I ended up euthanizing.

Is this a parasite of some sort? Or is it a fish?

They look like a fish, they have eyeballs

They are definitely fry.

Its just so weird because The only fry I have remotely close to that size are a couple months old by now, some are pushing an inch long. Some runts are still pretty small but these are like just started swimming size.

And it still doesnt explain how I somehow transferred them....

Eggs on decorations or plants getting transferred? Still seem too elongated for gt fry, looks alot like my bosemani rainbow fry shape-wise.

Almost looks like a tiny glass catfish. But hard to say how much is due to damage and it doesn't sound like you have any of those that might have bred anyway. :)

Yeah thats what i dont understand. A friend of mine also said Glass Catfish.

I totally remember now transferring a piece of driftwood!! That has to be where they came from. So the only possibilities are GT or Giant Danio.

The Danios have Horizontal stripes that run the length of their bodies. And I have 7 Danios in the tank that the driftwood came from!!

They gotta be danios right?
