2 Months ago i got 5 WC rays from Peru, 2 Yepezi, 2 SP.Peru and 1 Unknown. I live in Norway so i dont have the foods recomended in "Breaking Rays". They Eat Earth Worms and frozen red muscito Larvae, and im trying to break them to shrimp and other food you buy in the store, frozen, but i cant seem to get them to eat anything else but earth worms and larvae, its very annoying since there goes ALOT of earth worms in a day. Ive tryd to mix it all together a million times, but the shrimp always lays back on the floor, they wont have it. Ive even tryd to let the shrimp lay with the worms for a good period of time, so it would smell the same, but nono..Any good tips?

keep trying.... If they are healthy and have adequate weight on them, starve for a day and try it again. Don't give in and give them worms. If they don't take it try it the next day. If they won't take it try again, but maybe try to make it smell like the worms they love. Every so often give in and give them some of what they want if they don't start taking what you want. It has always worked for me

Got my flower off of crawlers by cutting up the crawlers and shrimp, then mixed them together and stuck in
frig over night so the shrimp would really soak up the crawler taste. Then I only fed the shrimp not the crawlers.
She would not eat them the first 3-4 days but after that she started eating the shrimp. Did the same with Tilapia.
Now I don't feed crawlers but couple times a month.

hehe. thats a freaking good idea cjfrontlovr, hehe, il try that one out.. My rays are only 6", so i dont know how big worms they take, but il for sure try it..I was wondering wtf nightcrawlers were, but i see its just the same as earth worms..il try this out, and il come back with info

Alrightythen..Then ive tryd it, and it seem to work on the biggest once, since they just swallow the whole thing. The smallest once have a tendensy to work the shrimp off..Since i have 5 Rays in the tank, its alot of worms to tie up, hehe..I think il try the starving method for a little while, only offering shrimp once a day, and i will tie some more

If you are in Norway try it with smelt i hope in your country its called like that in german its called Stint maybe you can translate it somehow. Anyway its a small fish that smells kinda cucamber. Cut it for small ray. The best frozen food you can get on this Planet is little freshwaterprans 250g 3 euro. What you need is a Asian foodsuplier. They are cought in FW rivers in thailand.Any and really any if not dead ray eats this ,its for the most FWray species the most natural foodsource, only difference its frozen. Disolve the frozen piece holding in your hands and watch rays gone in a frenzy. From this point your not to far away with other foods. At the beginning they a little sceptic also they have personal likes and disslikes. Try the shrimps you wont be dissapointet!
