NO more ich, faster growth, no more bacterial infections, better colors, etc....
Plus feeders are unrealistically expensive. $10 per feeding five times a week...
Plus with him having a feeder fish fetish, I couldn't co-hab him.
The point for me in having this fish is to see a large, powerful predator swimming around majestically in my tank with other large, majestic predators.
Goliath tigerfish, two payaras, pink tailed chalceus, juruense catfish and a silver aro and RTC that I'm babysitting.
In my small tank I have a tanzaniae tigerfish, three red tail tinfoil barbs and a rocket gar. The little TATF had killed a few tetras and barbs that I tried as dithers before he started taking pellets, just like the goliath did. Now that he eats, pellets, he doesn't bother anyone. Again, just like the GATF. It was the same story with my VATF before the GATF killed it. The VATF and TATF were both much easier to break than the GATF.
In my experience, once an ATF is broken off of live, they're very sociable.
