Can the gold piranha be kept with other fish?

I dont know much about them but I saw some in a store and I like their look,are they very aggressive or can they be kept with other predatory characins.Oh yeah,and are these the ones that are also called the Brandtii?Thanks for any help.

theres a few diff ones people reffer to as gold piranhas

theres Gold spilos aka P. Piraya aka gold piranhas

or the gold diamonds.... aka Rhoms

or the branditti is a goldish color i could see a dumb LFS labeling it as that lol

They are about the size of a silver dollar coin and going for $39.99.I would only want to keep one of them with my other fish but I dont have a camera to take pics though.

u cant keep any piranha with any other fish lol

i gonna guess its a baby gold spilo aka piraya....

u can shoal the pirayas but not any rhom species....

and ur other fish would survive until the piranha decides he is king of tank

Thats about what I suspected,to bad I dont have another tank that I could set up for a group.Thanks anyhow.

FYI gold S. Spilo is not aka P. Piraya, these are two totally different species. Some people have been known to keep Spilos together but not with any other fish. If you're going to try it have many hiding spots for fish to run to.

^ thats a crock. i've had 8 rbp 2 golden spilo 2 tiger oscars 2 common plecos a jack dempsey 2 jewel cichlids and a jaguar cichlid in a 300g. i never had a problem with any of them. just fed them regularly and did normal water changes. and i got them all when they were an inch. and when some of them got 3" i put a small common snapping turtle in with them. just feed them well
