Can the gold piranha be kept with other fish?

at above post. you got lucky really lucky and thats a big tank. piranhas in general should never be kept with other species unless you want them to be a snack for the p's. gold spilos generaly are solitary (but ocassionaly shoal) and would take the fins off everything else in the tank and once the reds figure it out theyl take off the spilos heads lol

put simply keep red bellies with red bellies. keep serras alone (except rare instances) and never keep wither with any other non piranha fish

Haha, I had a 125 gallon tank with a pair of reds and a caribe. I put some very large snapper turtle in there. THe turtles ruled the tank, for like 24 hours. I now have a turtlr pond outside, because the turtles were not doing well. If it works otherwise, you must be feeding them all very well. I have tried many things with a variety of pirahnas. It all works, until the runyans decide otherwise.

No shoal,the golds in the store just caught my eye and I briefly entertained the idea of adding one to my payara and dorado tank.I dont have any other piranha currently.

theres a few diff ones people reffer to as gold piranhas

theres Gold spilos aka P. Piraya aka gold piranhas

or the gold diamonds.... aka Rhoms

or the branditti is a goldish color i could see a dumb LFS labeling it as that lol

i gonna guess its a baby gold spilo aka piraya....

u can shoal the pirayas but not any rhom species....

and ur other fish would survive until the piranha decides he is king of tank

where did you pick up the maculatus. Big als?

I was in London during the summer and saw a few stores but nothing really caught my attention to try and bring home
