I've been thinking about taking two tanks of equal size and removing one end panel from each tank so that they could be joined together with silicone. The plastic framing could be softened or lightly melted so that they could be molded into one frame.Thoughts, comments, bring em on.

I've seen it done on a HUGE tank. I don't see why it couldn't be done on a smaller scale.

i think it would work . just make sure you add a brace on the joint or one on each side of it
Yeah I thought of that after I posted and logged off.

I have thought about doing that before. It seems like a pretty cool idea.

If you do it, make a thread so we can see the steps and how it turned out.
I sure will Brian.I would like to use two used 125's to make a nice long panoramic tank. They seem to be pretty cheap around here on the used market and one store actually has a section full of used tanks and equipment...It would be even better if I could find a place that can custom make the plastic framing.

thats funny i was actually just talking to a friend about this, im scared about that mid point where the 2 tanks meet.

BUT i work construction and know that silicone is some tuf stuff

i'd like to see an idea of a support brace on paper or somthing i think this would be a really cool idea!!

I would try it out with a couple 10 to 20 gallon tanks first.
I thought I might go that route also .There seems to be a cheap ten gallon at every weekend flea market around here....Another thought just popped up,does anyone know if such a long tank as two 125's end to end would require thicker glass.
