Ask this question again on April First.

Just kidding.

Bro, There might be 2 or 3 people tops on this forum that can actually house an Arapaima properly but i bet there are several people that have them anyway so dont feel too bad. With a 110 Gallon may i suggest some 3-4 or so Datnoids and maybe a Lima Shovelnose if you want a catfsh. That would be a pretty nice setup and the Datnoids are slow growers so you would be good for a while. would be a really nice setup too.

i have a 110gal aquarium. 60x18x23
and im planing to have 2 malasian gold arowana and 1 arapaima 1 red tail catfish , 1 shovel nose ,1 giant banded dragon fin , and 2 ocars or 2 giant gurami

Of the above fish, Arapaima and the two catfish (Red-tailed and shovel-nose) can not be kept in most indoor-aquariums for very long. They need a pond and a large one at that.

If you narrow down that list to just the Golden Aros and bichir, maybe your 18" wide tank will last about 1 to 1.5 year. Ideal tank size would be with a width of about 2.5 to 3 feet at least.

Alternatively, you can go for just the Oscars which should do OK in your current tank.

Cheers,
Sid

Be nice, folks. And this is exactly what the forum is for.;) Someone ask for queries, give your constructive criticism and experience. No need to instigate the matter. If you have nothing constructive to contribute, please back off. Really, you're not required to read what you don't like to see. Thanks.

Lupin no one that knows this diversity of species would even consider the above. DFTT

let's get this thing straight. if you could afford to buy those fish mentioned, i'm 100% you are more than capable of buying a bigger tank than a 110G. stop mentioning the 110 and add another 0 unto it. :D

If you had a big enough tank, you could probably house these fish. However, the RTC and the pima would outgrow your arowana in the future and possibly(probably) eat them.

You will need a much bigger tank than that, to house all the specimens you stated. With your 60"x18"x23", two Giant Gouramis would probably be about right. But if you can do 60'x18'x23', go for it!:)
