I think if you run the tank across the joists it should be fine but a litte re-enforcement never hurts.. I'm planning on buying the same screw jacks that rallysman showed you. Just haven't found them yet..
The joists are roughtly 18" apart (wasn't tall enough to measure the gap in between). just to be safe I'll try to run an other support beam across the joists and use couple lally columns or if I can find the jack mentioned by rallysman, or something similar.Hawkfish3.0;1601796; said:I've done construction on and off for years. You would be amazed at how much weight those trusses will support. I personally prefer joists of 2 X 10's spaced 16" apart. But, as I said before, those trusses will support a tremendous amount of weight. If you follow your original plan, you should have no problems. Try to set up the edges of your stand so that they align with trusses underneath. In other words try to align the far left edge of your tank stand directly over one of the trusses, same story for the right side of the stand.
