Most are species only. Tankmates aren't recommended due to aggression. There are always exceptions to keeping fish with Tankmates. Most vids on YouTube aren't the majority of cases but more like the exception. Ask
D-DC- and you will find out.
What channa were u looking at getting ? And what sized tank and tank mates were you considering?
YouTube is not a research tool , you'll find many videos of terrible mixes , everyone's happy to show off the new fish and stupid mixes that are "working".Nobody brags about the terrible aftermath that followed once the fish settle in and kill eachother.
With most species of channa it's guaranteed not to work.
Their are 3 species that I've heard some "success" stories about in mixes IF the tank is huge & the tankmates are both huge & docile. They are channa marulioides , Lucius & pleurophthalma. I'm not convinced any of those 3 actually work long term.
Pleuros are the only of the 3 that I own and at 6" it started being obvious that tankmates won't work long term. Most people I could find who have managed to keep them for a few years also report them turning mean with age .
I think in most cases reports of them & the other 2 working in mixed tanks is due to them being immature or stressed and given time they'll turn mean. Channa can take a few years to mature and they often outgrow the tank or die before turning nasty leading to what seems like a success story .
Years ago many claimed micros & diplos could also be mixed and as they became more readily available it became clear that at ~18" they all snap and kill everything .
Hello -DC- I have my 450 litre tank I have a siver arrow, Id shark, clown knife, jaguar chiclid, datnoid, Oscars and peacock baa there all baby's and I wanted a canna aurantimatacula or a canna pleurophthalma what do you think?

Wondering if its litre or gallons @ 450.
If its litre then ~110 gallon I think tank has sufficient population. As the gentleman -DC -mentioned if its not species tank it will be nasty.
Now by looking at your stock, you have arrow a jag and a DAT and clown to top it off not counting the Oscar .
They are babies at the moment but in few months will be " surprising " lol
