Can Veija Cichlids live SOLO?

That's true. I personally am not even a fan of cichlids this size being kept in a 4' tank. But at least he's not planning on putting three of them in a 75 gallon.

All I'm saying is if your tanks a 75 choose a group of thorichthys or something that can Co exist for life.Save the 12 inch plus fish for much bigger tanks.

Agree. That's why i recommended a regani.

I don't believe the OP has decided or bought anything yet.
 
I'm just happy he's starting with a 75 and not a 55.
But I agree that a 4' tank is more suitable for smaller species.

I suppose there's larger specimens in the wild, but I've never seen any over 12" in home aquaria. Mine has been growing out in a 180, is about 2.5 years old, and just slightly over 6" right now. Synspilum on the other end can easily hit 16" in captivity.
 
Is yours female?a male should reach 12 inch. I had a pair a few years back and the male was well over 10inches and still growing.The female was around 5 maybe 6inch.
 
I believe heterospila to be the smallest and most easy going of the veija group.

Judging by shape and color I'm leaning towards male
