Can water sit with no filteration?

Is it ok to fill up a 200 gallon tank an let the water sit for a month to 2 months before adding a filter?.. of course there are no fish.. just want to fill it up an start decorating dont plan on gettin a fx5 or 2 for another month.. an no fish for another 2- 3 months?

It'll get cloudy and nasty. I would at least put a powerhead or airstone in there if you insist on filling it ahead of time.

Don't just let it sit. It will get nasty.

I would wait until you at least get one FX5. Then you can at least start the cycle process and have it all ready for your upcoming fish.

Circulation is defiantly a must. The water will get foul if there is no movement.

Why fill it up with not filter, what would the point be with or without the power head.

If it were me, I would add substrate and decorate it. But, I would add a Hydro V sponge filter and do a fishless cycle. This way the tank will be ready when you are.
