i have a koi pond thats stocked big and i was wondering if i could catch one of the smaller ones (22-26") and aclimate him into my tropical tank. that would be from like 50 degrees to 80 and can koi live in indoor conditions?
its a 300 gallon with nothing that would pick at there fins

Im not 100% sure but im pretty sure they don't like temps that warm.

All the kois in my country are thriving in waters that are 26-27 degrees celcius (you guys convert, you're the one refusing to adopt what the rest of the world is using):irked:

I have some kois in my tropical pond also and they're (arguably) thriving and growing fast.

But I'm assuming these were bred and grew up in these tropical climate, not too sure how yours would take the sudden change.

I don't know if "practical" is an appropriate term to move your argument forward. If 80 degrees F is equivalent to 27 Celsius, which unit of measurement is more "practical"? They are measuring the same thing and is scientifically and mathematically at parity. Don't know if one unit of measurement is more "advanced" or superior.

If the whole world uses the Metric and Celsius system, doesn't it make more practical (here we are again with that word) sense for the US to adopt it?

koi are super hardy they should be fine

Does a koi discussion really have to turn into a country battle. Move on.

All koi will do fine in temps up to 35 degrees celcius but need to be acclimated slowly. I´ve imported thousands of koi over an 8 year period and find they do fine in a wider range of temperatures than most other fish species.
