Can you breed

I had a con breed with a different species of cichlid (unknown species) and now one of those babies had babies with a pure con (see my sig). It might work.

Mystix.. I was talking about final size... As in even if the male and female had compatible junk, the size difference in the fully grown adult fish would make fry improbable. It'd be like trying to breed a chihuaha to a great dane... only that the dogs would at least be the same species....

Funny you say that because in madison I read that that actually happened. The female was the great dane. I never found out how they turned out but that is the exact pair that was in the article...never say never

I imagine it was done through artificial insemination of a female dane with the sperm of a male chihuaha. With science, yes most things can be done. They crossed two totally unrelated species of rodent in a lab in china too .

So a 10" male jack dempsey could not breed with a 5" female convict?

Actually it happened in someones house while they were dog sitting...very ironic

I would assume the female was laying down ha ha or else the male has very very determined
