Can you do a water change when under a boil advisory?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
also, if there are nitrates in your water, boiling it will concentrate the nitrates and make them more toxic to your fish

what about collecting snow/rainwater in your part? would that be clean enough to do a water change though?

If it ends up being an emergency, you could always go buy a few
five gallon jugs of spring water to do a small waterchange.

Yeah that's always possible but we are doing good for now I moved my other FX5 to my main tank since I'm not using the other tank anymore. so I have the added bio from that filter to help.

Wouldn't work we don't have enough rain/snow here to do a WC with and I would have to store the water in something until it got back to at least room temp.
