Personally i change at most 50% water once a week usually, with a few small vacuum cleanings in between, since i would be worried about the BB not getting a chance to grow on the filtration... especially if your cleaning it out every other week...

lol.. depends on my tank and stocking.. I have some heavy bio-tanks atm that get 2x25-50% wc a week.. and the rest anywhere from 25%-50% 1x a week... really depends on my individual tanks. when I had US natives I use to do 25%-50% everyother day as well. I also clean filters on off days.. so I'm not doing a WC the same day I'm cleaning a filter.

It's all relative to stocking, feeding and metabolism. If I had two LMB in a 55g, I'd be doing the same thing. OF course, I wouldn't be having a LMB in a 55g, but that's another thread entirely.
