Can you actaully exaplain why you like fish the way you do? Like why you like them more than cats or dogs? Or why you'd rather spend good money of fish than a new TV or whatever?

A random Post, Ive Not Posted In A While :)

Id rather have my fish more than anyother animal for amillion reasons:nilly: 1.) They dont poop/pee on my carpet 2.) I dont have to let them out at night to go to the bathroom 3.) They dont bark 4.) Cheaper to feed. :grinno:

well i actually prefer my cattle over the fish... mainly because they are soooo tasty LOL... but other than that, like the guy above said they dont poop or pee on my carpet... and i cant keep a dog or cat locked in a fish bowl so that is the only place they deficate... but yet i still have dogs.......

Keeping fish lets you observe nature and natural(ish) behavior like you can with no other pets.

Unless you have a large yard and a pack of wild dogs there, of course. Tossing in the odd cow every so often...

i like fish because they dont shed, poop in your house or need everyday attention. i can leave for a week and not have to worry about them, they are very relaxing to watch and i can mix and match all i want. i dont have to go to the vet to have one put down if it gets sick and the neighbors dont ***** about them making too much noise.

Haha, I like all these things. I have cats and a dog and I'd get rid of the tanks over my cats or dog even though I love keeping fish.
Also have a bigscreen TV, which sometimes I think about getting rid of so I can put an extra fish tank, but then I turn it on and that thought goes away pretty fast :D. Especially since it compliments my xbox 360.

Basically I like fish tanks though, for the following reasons:

I have always had an interest in observing and learning about aquatic creatures, specifically fish. I like stuff having to do with water anyway, I love swimming and snorkelling and boating and eventually SCUBA hopefully.

Aquariums are kind of like live decorations. Not something I get bored with cuz there's always something going on.

I do have to clean up after them, but they only make a mess in their own little place, not somewhere else in the house :irked:

It's kind of neat having my own little ecosystem that I can actually support in my own home.

They're interactive but they don't need constant or large levels of attention like cats, dogs and other animals. Don't need to be walked or petted or things like that, I can give them attention when I want to rather than when its required. Although maintenance has to be done in a relatively timely manner, it's not a daily requirement.

Aquascaping, feeding, and watching my fish, and even cleaning and doing maintenance is pretty relaxing to me personally.

It's like a living art work with all the colors and shapes

I just like fish :)

Besides, cats and dogs are way too mainstream. Fish are just cool. It takes a real character to appreciate them, instead of being like "Oh, why don't you go get a dog like everyone else?"
