Can you guess the Meanest Pleco I keep?

1043 was the winner - Xantos.
I was as shocked as some of you probably are, but when you see a 6" Xantos pushing around a 10" Adonis you have to give him the crown. Xantos are built like a low slung tank and my 9" one (lost is breeding fighting) was an immovable rock. Before I got my 1st Xantos about 2 years ago (I now have 9) L114 (I have 8)would win up to about 10" then bigger than that an Adonis (I have 6 3/4) would win. I think Adonis are just too light weight at smaller sizes. They don't start getting wide until about 10". Next would be L282 (I have 5) or perhaps L25 (I only have one > 7" and the rest are small so I have very little experience). L14, L190, L191, L95 and L330 rarely put up a good fight to keep a cave.
Also in breeding groups Xantos fight much more often to the death. I haven't had many of the normal L56 chubby (only 2 right now) but they have been very calm. As always individual differences in temperment can be great. That is why I only listed ones I've had a large number of.
