I'll try to get another pic of the pike....he seems to be camera shy & is VERY fast. I feel like the Coyote trying to photograph the Roadrunner. Beep Beep!

Looks like Crenicichla sp. Xingu I, orange pike. Sub-adult. How big is it?

Its an Orange Pike (Crenicichla sp. Xingu I ) The males become a dull grayish green and the females get a wine red belly - both retain red unpaired fins. I have one he is quite aggressive as are most large Crenicichla.My one is about 12" and eats like a pig. He is in with fish bigger than him and holds his own.
