Can you ID My puffer

The pet store sold it as something that started with a J but I can't find any puffers that have a common name starting with a J.

If you need better photo I can get one.

Also I was told he need some salt in the water, but he is in my planted tank; any suggestions.

It's an Amazon Puffer. Stand by for mod-move, there's a Puffer forum. Good pickup but I hope he's alone in the tank...
 
Its either a Colomesus asellus "Amazon Puffer" FW fish or "Figure Eight" Brackish fish... Brackish fish do require salt in their tank... Most likely what you have, but thats a hard pic to see.

No way its a Figure 8. They have much more mottling on the top side.
 
When I kept amazons, they never had black circles on their back, always black stripes... If the guy said it needs salt, maybe its some brackish puffer...
 
I dont know, its one of the two, and the guy said it needs salt, and I never seen an amazon with black circles..
 
i know its not a figure 8, those are more yellow and this one doesnt have the 8
 
I called the LFS they said I bought a Jade Puffer. He lives with 2 gourami, I have been doing some rearraning of my tanks.
