Can you ID this Pleco

I bought a 10" pleco from one of the local Fish farms and I was wondering if anyone could possibly identify it for me.

It looks like a standard common pleco. A P. pardalis to be more precise.

I dont think so. it looks much more like P. ambrosetti.

to me it looks like a normal pleco

commons (Pterygoplichthys pardalis) dont have as many spots on the face and dont have as much contrast between the light and dark parts of their pattern. their head is also less elongated.

I'm the co-owner of the pleco in question...drazn didn't mention he has a big tall fin on his back that isn't seen in the pic. I didn't think commons had a fin like that?

right. its definitely not a common. It's Pterygoplichthys ambrosettii. Snow king pleco.

very striking fish when full grown.

Wow thanks We thought when we got him that he was pretty cool looking. None of the others we've seen in shops around here look anything like him.
