Please stop saying "glow". These creatures do not glow. They are neon, fluorescent, etc., but in the dark you see nothing.

but the gene as expressed in the jellyfish (where they got the gene from to make the transgenic fish) does in fact glow.
as in they glow a green colour in the dark.
but yes, that doesn't seem to happen in the red or green glo danios.

yes, the gene for biolumenescence glows in the jellyfish, but not in the danio. but it does make them appear 'neon' in normal daylight or under aquarium lights.

Hahaha! Of course chickens have the gene for teeth, they are the closest living relatives to the tyrannosaurus. Remember birds did evolve from reptiles (then again so did we, but less recently). I'm sure most if not all fish could be genetically altered to carry the glowing gene, along with several land animals too.
Of course, it is a costly process. I wouldn't expect any genetically altered fish to come cheap.
