ok so i make metal sculptures, yes with plasma torches and arc welders, and was wondering if i could make them safe to put in my tanks? like i made a cutout of a "monster" fish and want to put it in my 125, so can i make them safe for my fish? thnx, i know you can put glass in a fishtank, so can you put metal in it?

Epoxy coat the metal to prevent oxidation and render them inert in water.

^ yep. I remember a while back someone had posted pics of a tank with "something" plated bullet shells for substrate. You remember that or am I going bonkers? :screwy:

Plated bullet shells as substrate? That's the craziest idea yet. o______o

I remember seeing that tank... i think he nickel plated all the shells, although i could be mistaken about the coating, but i definitely remember the bullet shells part...

Sounds like it could be pretty cool.

I'd imagine you also want to make sure you don't leave sharp edges...I guess thats assumed? I'm new:p

Post pics if/when you do it though!
