Can you over UV sterilize your system?

I've been kicking around the idea of a uv tube for a while, but Im kind of lost as where to begin. Is there any brand that is generally recommended or which is avoided? Or are they all about the same?

Ill be honest, I am not sure. Ive heard AQUA UV is good. Speaking from experience, the Laguna brand I have is crazy good. It literally smade my water sparkle in 20 minutes I also like to have it running as a precautionary method against any kind of bacteria and Ich. Check craigslist and make sure when you buy it that the bulb is still good as well as the quartz sleeve. They can be a bit pricey.
