i don't know if there is submersible pump for ocean clear canister filters, i been using ocean clear for a few years and i remember the first pump i bougth was a quiet one 4000HH thinking that i was going to be a quiet pump but i wasn't i think this pump its submersible. So after i been buying other pumps but none its submersible, my question its if you want to buy a pump for the ocean clear what size its the tank, how many units are you puting together or its only one, what its your stock?????

OK, You can't submerge a pump into an Ocean Clear canister.
You can , however, have a pump submerged for example in a sump and still direct the output of that pump to an Ocean Clear canister.
The choice of submerged versus in line is a matter of choice and system design.
The pump doesn't care, It's just a pump.
Many pumps can be installed either way.

Rudy1964's questions about your system design are valid. What are you proposing to build ?

edit; here is O.C.'s recomendation.

Use an external pump with a flow rate of 500-1600gph. Manufacturer recommends using a pump at the higher end, especially if using more than one unit in tandom. Inlet and outlet size is 3/4".

You can email them with your setup/requirements and they will help you select the right pump.

Don't use a Mag Drive with Ocean Clears. I tried it and it didn't work. They are great for sumps though.

Although my personal preference is Little Giant, Reeflo is certainly a quality product.
I can't imagine why a Danner Supreme Mag 18 wouldn't pair up nicely with an Ocean Clear 340 ?
Perhaps bud8fan could enlighten us as to which pump he paired with what Ocean Clear canister.

I get that you are wanting to use an unpowered canister. What else ?
What are the basics of your idea ?
