basically i have been thinking about getting an aro for a while now and i have a 125 spare, but i dont know a HUGE amount about them so i havnt got one. my LFS has ordered in a Pearl which they are getting today and i would really like it, but i cant seem to find enough information anywhere :confused:that makes me comfortable enough to get it (if that makes sense?)
so can i use all of your knowledgable heads so that, even if i dont get this one, i can get one in the near future. :)

thanks

All I can say is Pearl (Jardini) aros are really aggressive and mostly will kill their tankmates.

it will be on its own so it can be aggressive as it likes

any other input would be great

I've see other on here have P-bass with their jars and you need at least a 2ft wide tank and at least 6ft long. I have a small Jar 6-7 inches with come P-bass (9-10), a big 13-14 inch petsmart midas/rd and a couple catfish 7-8 inches.

I always thought that Pearl Arowanas referred to Leichardti, but back on subject, Jardini have a reputation of being killers. There are some people who have managed to keep Jars with tankmates, but it's usually hit or miss. I suggest a 180g to 240g would be good for life.

the usually top at at 24" so a 180 be good for it for life..bigger is always better... its usually after they get 12" that they get nasty...

they grow big like bigger then 24 inch smaller then 30 i think O_O and they are agressive or most of them are, they kill there tankmates well most of them do

Care requirements are the same as the standard silver aro or just about any large carnivorous fresh water fish i.e. lots of filtration, check water and HAVE A COVER

There is nothing to it really.

Feed it live (if you must but quarantine), train on pellets and market shrimp (head and tail spike removed).

Tank sized was covered above already - just don't forget to cycle the tank first

Good luck you won't be dissapointed
