Just a simple question but its been awhile since i've been in the aquarium scene so I figured Id ask by feeding your fish feeders from the local pet store are you greatly increasing the chance of your fish to come down with Ich or any other bad bacteria?

unless you raise them
any commercialy bought feeders usually rosie reds/tuffies (the albino form of fat head minnows),
guppies, bait minnows etc.need to be quarantined before feeding them to your fish for several reasons.
reason 1 They are kept in horrible conditions
reason 2 They are often diseased
reason 3 They often are carriers of parasites
During quarantine dispose of the obviously sick or diseased. The remaining ones feed quality
foods a healthy feeder is of course better for your fish.

Quarantining feeders is the best way to ensure you dont expose diseases to your main tank. With almost any fish, whatever it eats, is broekn down by the gastric juices and bile in the stomach. So feeding a 'bad' feeder wont always harm your fish.

I'd say no, I had 2 of them jump me from behind and steal my wallet.

buy a lil 10 gallon and quarintine them for about 2 or 3 weeks... then its feeding time... the natural vitamins help promote growth too... dont overdo it though

i say as long as they arent along the lines of goldfish then sure
