No, you will warp it and in time the re-seal/glue-ed joint will fail...

You will waste more time and money in silicone and worries then to outright replace the piece(s) in question...

remember valves can be saved.... use an adapter, bushing or a union
 
I used to work in irrigation. The glue is technically glue its more of a bonder. It chemically bonds the pvc together. FYI dont get the glue on your hands or other parts of your body if your sweaty. It does burn.
