I have a cane corso and my brother used to breed them. very good breed, but like a few of you already said, this is not a breed for the inexperienced. In my experience, socializing is the key to a well behaved dog. these dogs are very protective of family and you need to socialize the dog prior to bringing people into your home. dont expect the dog to understand its ok if you havent socialized at an early age-very important.
is your dog aggressive? the breeder I'm thinking about is located in ohio.

I heard I could have a breeder ship me a pup but I don't get that-- what if the dog turns out to be skittish or just basically not as sweet as I'm hoping? Is there a way to ensure you're getting a "good dog" (in addition to a healthy dog)?

I made a thread a few months ago about a neighbor who keeps their dog tied outside to a tree in all kinds of conditions...That dog is a Cane Corso.

She is aggressive. She is only friendly to a handful of people-my wife and I, my brother, and my mother in law. She was not mine originally, someone had bought her from my brother and did not want her anymore. I gladly took her at 5 months. They can learn to tone down their aggression even at an older age but its not worth it in my opinion. Train/socialize as early as possible.

Havent heard of him, is he in cleveland? His corsos have a short stature. Make sure to ask him if any of his dogs have issues with the hips and cow-hocked legs..

This question makes me think that you need a bit more experience before taking on this breed.

You must select your own after a few hours watching them. Select one that suits you. They are dogs that need proper training and a proper respect for humans. Alot of dogs are protective. My pittie doesnt like ppl playing with my daughter unless Me or my wife are around. My friends corsos are like big puppies, no aggression for ppl or dogs. Even my wifes unruly lil chihuaha is accepted by them. My experience with corsos is limited but i believe them to be misunderstood. Alot like the argentine doggo

Just be prepared to do everything required to make your dog a well adjusted dog. We do not need any more dogs put to sleep bc they were never given boundaries.
