I got a cane toad on Friday and looks FAT lol. He is a funky big guy but I haven't seen him eat yet. How long would it take him to settle down? Is there and foods that they truly can't resist? He does look like he has a huge appetite.

Cheers,
Keith

no clue for your question but pics pics pics!!!!

not sure about your question, but can you give me some info on how to house them? (Ex. Heat pad/light/tank size, etc.....)

I know in australia cane toads eat ANYTHING they can fit in their mouths... Including cigarette butts...

I'll get pics tomorrow, he's bad-ass lol. Yeah I herd they eat absolutely anything, that's why I'm well not concerned but just curious if there's anything they really really REALLY like lol. I'll put pics of his set up on for you, you thinking of getting one?

I had one that did the same thing about 20 years ago, it was very frustrating. I essentially created an enclosure with tons of plants and cover, so much so that the cage looked like crap, but the toad could hide anywhere. I dont know if it was that or just the extra time but he started eating about a week later. I forgot I also gave him 2 water bowls, one flat and shallow and the other deeper like a big coffee cup buried in substrate. I offered x-large crickets and the occasional earthworm in very small numbers at first. Eventually, I started removing some of the junk in the tank little by little until it looked presentable.
