Canister filter advice and UV light useful?

I have both run on the low flow for 2days. then I saw the fishes can't tolerate both filters flow rate on both side. Goldfish need to have slow flow and hanging on bottom resting when light off.

I decided to throw all filter media from Whisper to AquaClear 500. This morning, I can see the water clear up and fishes run happier.

I ordered some Bio-balls and will let it flow on top of the AquaClear
