Any ehiem owners? i just need to know if the propellers is actually supposed to separate from its magnetic base.

just looked at google images. It seems that the fastner of the impeller and the magnetic base has broken off. the propeller is gonna be loose if it rotates. I'm not sure if it's going to work if there is not fastener.

not my pic bit i nthe picture you can see that white part at the end. It's missing for mine. (right side)

In your shoes, I'd prioritize keeping your media's BB alive and the tank water circulating. Your lfs probably has something you could buy to push water through bagged media, in tank. ?
rinse off excess detritus, using non-chlorinated water, to get by while awaiting replacement impeller...fast shipping.

You need a DIY filter from a water bottle to keep the bio media alive. I have my doubts with Eheim canister products. I have eheims and am thinking of switching. Rena XP3 would never have this issue.

just shelled out 230 bucks for new canister filter. The most money i've spent on a fish keeping keeping item :'(

it's a Marineland. Capacity 100 gals.

Oh I'm so screwed since I don't have any unchlorinated water atm since I never thought this would happen. So all the cycle bacteria is gonna die even if I transfer some to my new filter. I do have that bacteria starter from the bottle and the dechlorinator.

no it won't die. rinse off any excess detritus in a bucket of tank water, or tap water treated with dechlorinator. you can transfer your live media into new filter. knocking off extra filth isn't even as important INside a new filter as it would be if you were saving the media in the main tank.

Petmountain sells that marineland 360 for 139.99 so you could've paid next day shipping and got it cheaper.. Anyways hope all works well like others said put your media in there from eheim.. Also now you can order the new impeller online and have an extra filter. Do a google search for best pricing.
