Canister filter media help

I have never boiled nor replaced any of my no-name ceramic media.....never been an issue. So, I don't see a reason to spend significantly more money, for name brand products, to get the same desired results: 0 ammonia; 0 nitrite

I used Ceramic rings too- in my canster- I also use pot scrubbies as a coarse mechanical/bio, and if this is my only filter on the tank- I add a poly filter pad on top (ie: the Cascadde 1000 in the living room 35 hex). I don't like to do maintenance so if not used for Mech. filteration, like on my 125G garage tank (supplementary pump) I only use scrubbies.

Super cheap to get a bunch if you by online at Doitbest.com Scrubbie link x12 8ct bags (x96 total) for $12 +tax at your local DoItBest hardware store. I have a few hundered or so in my 55G wet sump
